Reminiscing on Vacations

We won the photo contest for Equity Estates. Laura and I have been owners/members of an LLC that owns Luxury Residences around the works since 2006. We have traveled on 50+ vacations to these residences with family and friends over that time. We had a 4 month photo contest that I entered photos and videos each month. We won 3 of the 4 months and we won the Grand Prize that was voted on by the executive team.

We have often said that we get to enjoy every vacation 3 times.  First when we plan the vacation and we spend time thinking about the pending vacation.  We enjoy it the second time when we are actually on vacation.  And we enjoy it the third time after the vacation with the memories it created.  What I loved about the photo contest was that it forced me to go back to review photos and videos from previous vacations and I was able to reminisce about the vacations once again.

The video that was chosen as a grand prize winner was taken during a trip to the Big Island with our family.  We were with both of our adult sons and their partners, my sister and brother in law, and a former Rotary Youth Exchange student from France who lived with us for a year when he was in high school in 2006. The subdivision is called Laule'a which in Hawaiian means, "Peace, Happiness and Friendship".

The Big Island is one of our favorite places, and we mostly spend our days snorkeling.  We have found many amazing snorkeling spots that are all accessible from the shore.  We buy fresh fish from Da Fish House at Kawaihae Marketplace at the Kawaihae Harbor, and we barbecue it every night with different marinades and salsas.

On this trip Hannah brought a new drone, and she was playing around learning how to take video from the drone.  She spliced together some different shots and had a lot of fun creating a video to show the area we love visiting so much and has so much meaning for us.

We hope you enjoy it! And if you have interest, here is the Equity Estates website. Check out the homes from around the world. Many will say this is too expensive, but if you compare it to purchasing a second home, the down payment, the debt service and even just furnishing and maintaining a second home, this is a bargain. But most importantly, it is about the QTR time spent with family and friends.

Cheers and Quality Time Remaining!
